Happy Easter!
Welcome to the Syndey Royal Easter Show! Liz and I took a day trip into Syndey yesterday to enjoy this agricultural fair/carnival. It rained a lot on us (glad we brought that umbrella) but we had a great time. (I think I have a career in male-modelling ahead.)
This furry guy was in with the other baby cows. He looks like an abominable... cow. What is he? (Krista, a little help here would be great.) But seriously, who knew cows could be shaggy like a dog?
And then there were the little piglets. Obviously Liz's favourites. Not so sure I ever realized how big a full-sized pig was. It's like 4 times the size of a dog. woah! There was a place where you could go in and see all the baby lambs, goats, cows, even bunnies, and chicks! Actually, I think THIS was Liz's favourite part. :) Only it would have been better if they let her hold the bunnies. Just for a minute!!!
This one's for the old-school 24 fans out there. Needless to say we wanted to buy the watches, but we didn't want Jack Bauer to hunt us down for our association with Nina. Also, mmm yummy ice cream!
And this great shot came out of nowhere. Liz had just bought this amazing cowboy hat at the show and we were walking away from the hat booth when she asked if I was going to take her picture in it. Ok, I figured. And then behind her appeared this AMAZING sign! What a coincidence. Really, it was quite spectacular. Very fitting I think. She didn't join the association though. Give it time? But one thing we did join at the show was this wine group. Basically they send you a case of wine every 3 months from different wine regions in Australia! It was free to join at the show and they give you a good deal on the bottles they ship to you. So we're pretty pumped about the whole thing. We'll be such wine connoisseurs by the end of this trip.We didn't stay for the evening fireworks because a) the rain, and b) the 2+ hour train ride ahead of us to get home. But we had a great time and made the Cranstons proud as we scoffed at "Mr. Cob" as we walked by.
(Side note - corn on the cob, on a stick. And for $3.50! All we can say is that we think the Cranstons are seriously missing the boat on this lucrative business opportunity. Leave it to the Carnies to figure out a way to gouge you on corn.)Lots of Love,Grant & Liz
