First order of business - Krista your comment about Humps in pink made my morning. lol Please tell Ray that he was right about everything, but we've spotted some clouds already :) Few and far between though!
So we're here!!! Officially our favourite place on earth is the little chunk of paradise we found at just ONE of the beaches yesterday. Even with the sun behind the clouds, these crazy Canadians were laying out in our un-tanned glory.
So - long story, internet cafe, gotta get through this. Flight from Honolulu - lets just say we've learned to confirm our FOOD because everyone on the entire FREAKIN PLANE got two meals... but not us! We were sooo heart broken, clearly our travel agent thought that the "cheapest package" should also include 11 hours of torture to save us like what, $40? Liz = clearly bitter the entire flight. Especially when B.O. Guy on our right ate his meal, then breaks out A BROWN LUNCH BAG WITH MORE FOOD!!!! have you no HEART?!?! Sigh, but after all that, the Melbourne airport was good enough to provide us with a pleasing pizza/beer deal. Clearly we deserved it.
Arriving later (9pm local) in Sydney on Tuesday (where did monday go? Don't ask... I'm still freaked out), this taxi driver picked us up (yes, our name was on a sign! so cool!) right at the baggage claim. The drive back to the College here was about 50 min but the driver was basically a tour guide - he knew everything about the area and had us very excited. Anyways we pull in at the college, there's a girl there to sign us in and as I'm filling out the third line of our information, Jenn (from Laurier) and Lisa show up at the door of the college! AHHH We were so excited because we didn't stay at the school at all (saving us a pretty Cdn penny - Grant: they don't have anything smaller than a 5cent piece here. WHATEVER ) and then we cabbed back to our NEW HOUSE!!! so we're in a townhouse with the 2 girls, it's gorgeous, seriously way more than we expected. it has a back porch (no yard tho) with a big BBQ which we used last night for burgers, and today for the leftovers :) and we have laundry machines, three bathrooms (two with showers) and TONS of space. It's a HUGE blessing - and OH YA talk about roughing it, we have a DISHWASHER!!! so clearly we bought food for dinner last night to thank the girls for having the hook ups for all this. we've spent yesterday and today setting up phones/getting info on internet, and walking everywhere! So we'll send photos when we're on our own internet, but thank you so much for your comments and we LOVE to hear from you guys (especially about the snow... sorry but seriously it makes us feel good) :) Grant sends his love - he's right here. Anyways we're off but don't worry about us - things are AWESOME!

Well I am glad to hear that you are roughing it downunder! A townhouse?? NICE! SO jealous of all the pictures, and so now I can tell Grant to "Go Fly a Kite!" and he won't be offended? Excellent! (Ok someone had to make that joke). Oh ya, when you come back I want a green dog wine bottle as my present ok?!? ;)
Oh and just for Grant, in the 3 weeks you have been gone, I should just let you know that the Habs have folded, and all of their Stanley Cups now belong to the Leafs. Just thought you'd like to know. Now, go drink a Foster's!
11 hours with no food? Liz, you are a stronger woman than I....I def. would have jumped the guy with the brown bag and taken all his food...then fished out my deodarant for him! We need pics of this new place....how does that happen? You get to spend in a year in Australia AND get nicer digs than me...honestly! We are def. missing you two over here. C&C sends their love! and so do I!!! xoxo krista
