Thanksgiving Dinner

Well here they are - photos from our Thanksgiving Dinner!!

*no, Australia does not in fact celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving. weird - we know!*

In attendance: Grant, Liz, Jenn, Joe, Liz D, Kate.

Grant's on the BBQ (but what, you might ask, do you BBQ for Thanksgiving??)...

Liz's in the kitchen...

On the menu:

Dinner Rolls, potatoes, carrots and broccoli... and steak.
(oh that's what the BBQ was for... wait a second...)

YES steak - but not just ANY kind of steak...
Kangaroo steaks!

We've waited all year to find kangaroo meat, and it turns out that it's not as specialty as I assumed it would be! They stock it regularly at Woolworths! along with Roo Roast, Roo fillets, Kanga Bangas (I wouldn't lie to you). So there it is, and it was delicious! mmmm It tastes like beef (ish), and we got some that were marinated in garlic and herb... mmmm AND check out the label - gluten free! Everyone can enjoy a little roo now and then!! :)

Of course not everybody likes red meat, so Kate got her chicken and was very happy with that - what? We don't exactly have a lot of good serving dishes!? ha ha ha

And what would Thanksgiving be without pumpkin pie... well it would be Australian because we couldn't find any. So instead we had cake! And apparently we're celebrating the birth of Australian Thanksgiving (we had kangaroo steaks and you think a birthday cake is weird!?).

We hope you all had a much more traditional, but just as fun, Thanksgiving weekend! xoxo

Looks like a great Thanksgiving dinner. We didn't have turkey either -- we had roast beef.
