Unfortunately, there are no pictures to go with this post.
The reason that is so upsetting, is that I'm about to tell you the best story ever:
Last Sunday, the 11th, Grant and I went to the beach in the morning, AND in the afternoon! BUT THAT'S NOT EVEN THE BEST PART!!! In the afternoon, we went back with Joe and Liz to play on the body board and play in the waves (which, by the way were enormous). It was about 3pm. Grant and Joe went out first and were about 10 feet in front of the Lizs and suddenly are pointing at the water yelling at us. What's that Grant? A penguin in the water?!?!?! COOL! Yep, there he was, a little black penguin looking up out of the water, then swimming along about 2 feet from Grant! He hung around for about 10 minutes, then left. You could see him in the waves as they came up and curled to break - just swimming along after the minnows.
Best experience ever, but does that little guy even realize how lost he is?? :) The sad part of the story is that Joe's a biology-nut and loves animals. He was testing his underwater video camera case that he just bought for snorkelling on the Easter break. There was no camera in the case. sigh
That's all for now, a little tidbit for you. Teaching went well this week - my grade 1s are fun! The school is, however, a 10 minute walk, 20 minute train or bus ride away. And if we take the train, we have to get picked up from the station by a teacher because it's a 40 minute walk from the school. OUCH! How we miss having cars sometimes.
*Love Liz (& Grant, who is a little under the weather)
